Born in 1982, Error404 is from the infamous techno city of Birmingham in the UK. Having been DJing for several years and heavily influenced by infamous British artists such as Regis, Surgeon, James Ruskin & Oliver Ho, he began to produce his own sounds in 2000. In his own words: "I like the Detroit ethos of techno - forming ideas from all corners and using technology to redesign, restructure and develop – constant evolution. I was always fascinated by the ways sounds interact, the relationship between tone and texture and rhythm's influence on the body. Production and performance wise, both DJ and Live, I like to take the listener on a journey - as a wise man once said, 'variety is the spice of life'. I try to keep the theme and mood changing and morphing. Linearity doesn't provoke thought or emotion - I want to put listeners just outside their comfort zone." Production and performance wise, he is keen to demonstrate the influence of other genres and how they can work in harmony with more customary Techno themes – certainly elements of Electro, IDM, Grime and Dubstep are evident in his music. The combination of his aggressive sound and the musical diversity of his sets makes for interesting listening. With further releases lined up for 2007 and many production projects in the pipeline, Error404 is definitely an extremist to keep at the top of your watch-list.
